Cultural Unity, Oakland, CA, is a student based organization at Berkeley High School established to promote intra-cultural exchange between students and cultural understanding among the larger Berkeley High population, reduce in-school incidences of hate crimes/speech, and develop a grassroots community organizing model with immigrant English-language learner youth. They received a $2000 grant from the Board of Trustees for the continuation of political education workshops and for the production of youth driven ethnic studies curricula/media projects to be distributed in Berkeley High classrooms, and to stipend youth participants and adult facilitators.
